About Me!

Hello! I am Maris Smith, a senior majoring in English with a concentration in Film Studies, as well as a minor in American Sign Language. I have one cat, Winona, whom I love more than just about anything in this world.

I am very excited to dive into this British Literature class. Partly because it is my last class required to graduate (yay!), and partially because over my college experience I have developed a true love for literature. After studying Shakespeare this summer as well as spring semester last year, I am very excited to read the works that have been assigned on this syllabus.

I am particularly excited to read Othello, as well as American Moor. I already enjoy Othello a great deal, and I am very much looking forward to expanding on previous discussions I have had about the play. I feel very unfamiliar with a lot of British literature, which is what makes me most excited about this class! I cannot wait to dive in head first.

I look forward to a wonderful semester with great discussions!
